[Linked in] June 9th K-REACH : New polymer registration/ notification

this week will be about new chemical registration, especially for polymers. If the polymer is a new substance, the procedure is different by tonnage band, and joint registration couldn’t be conducted even though they manufacture/import the same substance.
 
1) 0.1 ton and above per year: same as general substance registration

 

Substance information, CLP, usage information dossier should be prepared for notification application.
 
3) Notification subject to hazardous evaluation exemption
In the case of a new polymer that has already been exempted from polymer hazardous evaluation under the previous Toxic Chemical Control Act(TCCA), if the polymer meets the certain notification condition, the substance should be notified with the resulting paper of confirmation of exemption from hazard assessment according to Article 6-3(1)4 of the Enforcement Rules of the K-REACH.
