[Linked in] October 13th: K-BPR : who is obligated to be approved for the biocides?

Hello everyone!

Today, we will look at the subject of ‘how to implement the approval for the Biocidal Product by complying with the grace period?’
 
Do you know what happened if the biocidal product (hereinafter, BP) will be not approved within the grace period?

Manufacturing, importing, selling, and distributing of the BP will be all prohibited and subjected to withdrawing, discarding, fine, and penalty according to the K-BPR.
Therefore the company that treats BP must pay attention to this initiative and carry out the approval progress.
 
The grace period for the BP is by December 2024 if the biocidal active substance (hereinafter, AS) in BP was approved within 2022. And the application for the BP must be submitted by September 2023.

Conversely, if the AS in BP is not approved by 2022, the application of BP and AS must be submitted simultaneously until January 2023 in case the company wants to distribute the BP after 2023. And the grace period BP is December 2023 in this case.

AS terminated its designation will be prohibited from manufacturing and importing and the grace period will be one year from the date of terminating the designation. In such cases, the AS used in BP must be replaced with an approved AS or changed to another use.
