[K-REACH] Voluntary Reporting of Violations of the K-REACH (Notification No. 2025-124 of the Ministry of the Environment)
The Ministry of Environment, in consultation with the Ministry of Justice, announced that it will set a voluntary reporting period for those who failed to register, pre-register, or change chemical substances before February 27, 2025, or who violated the registration requirements. The self-reporting period will be for eight months, from February 28 to October 27, 2025.
Those to be notified are companies that have not registered, notified (pre-registered), or changed their registration under the Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances Act, or have manufactured or imported chemical substances differently from the existing notification. To report, registration and change registration must be submitted to the Korea Chemical Safety Agency and pre-registration to the Korea Environment Agency, and relevant forms and reports must be completed and submitted.
Voluntary reporters are exempt from legal penalties and administrative penalties, except for cases under investigation. If a violation is found after the self-reporting period, penalties and administrative penalties will be strictly applied.
