[동향보고] 미국 EPA, 유해성이 낮은 화학물질 발표

   TSCA*(독성물질관리법)에 따르면 미국 환경보호국 (EPA**)은 특정 TSCA 통지를 검토한 후 신규 화학물질이나 중요한 신규 사용이 인체나 환경에 불합리한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 판단한 경우 해당 결과에 대한 성명을 연방 관보에 게시해야 합니다.

이러한 고시는 TSCA에 따라 EPA에 제출된 PMN*(제조 전 고지), MCAN**(미생물 상업 활동 고지) 및 SNUN***(중요한 신규 사용 신고)에 적용됩니다.

EPA는 지난 8월 12일 및 22일, 2022년 3월부터 7월까지 평가한 아래 물질에 대하여 화학 물질 또는 중요한 새로운 용도가 건강이나 환경에 대한 부당한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 발표하였습니다.
