[동향보고] 미국 EPA, 유해성이 낮은 물질 발표

미국 독성물질관리법(TSCA*)에 따르면 미국 환경보호국(EPA**)은 특정 TSCA 통지를 검토한 후 신규 화학물질이나 중요한 신규 사용이 인체나 환경에 불합리한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 판단한 경우 해당 결과에 대한 성명을 연방 관보에 게시해야 합니다.

이러한 고시는 TSCA에 따라 EPA에 제출된 사전제조신고(PMN*), 미생물상업활동고지(MCAN**) 및 중요신규용도신고(SNUN***)에 적용됩니다.

EPA는 지난 9월 21일 2021년 7월 1일부터 7월 31일까지 평가한 아래 물질에 대하여 화학 물질 또는 중요한 새로운 용도가 건강이나 환경에 대한 부당한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 발표하였습니다.
